Hershey relocates, expands Chocolate World in Times Square
The Hershey Co. celebrated a new, expanded Hershey's Chocolate World today in New York City's Times Square.
The 7th Avenue store replaces the former Manhattan outlet at 1593 Broadway.
Hershey's new location, at 7,800 square feet, is three times the former store's size.
"We’ve succeeded in creating a landmark destination where chocolate lovers will experience something unlike anything they’ve seen, smelled or tasted before," Suzanne Jones, The Hershey Experience vice president, said in a statement.
The grand opening featured Milton Hershey School’s New Horizons Choir and a special gift for the first 1,000 customers.
The New York location is one of five Hershey’s Chocolate World retail stores. Others include the original Chocolate World in Derry Township and stores in Las Vegas, Niagara Falls, Dubai and Singapore.
Headquartered in Dauphin County, The Hershey Co. employs about 21,000 people worldwide, including about 4,300 in Derry Township.
