Stewart & Tate break ground on $10.1M facility for Carlisle Construction Materials
Carlisle Construction Materials, a manufacturer of roofing products, has begun construction on a new $10.1 million research and development building in Carlisle, which will replace its current technical center.
The 42,000-square-foot research and development building will house CCM's testing labs, support office, conference and collaboration spaces. The building has been designed to accommodate a future addition that would include a second story over the front office portion.
York-based Stewart & Tate Construction is the general contractor on the project. Core Design Group of York is the project architect.
Construction is slated for completion in August 2018.
It is CCM's latest building project in Cumberland County. The company recently built a training and conference center in Carlisle.
The company makes building products for the commercial and residential construction markets. Its parent company is Carlisle Companies Inc., which has headquarters in Charlotte, N.C.
Stewart & Tate Construction is part of Stewart Group Inc., which does business as The Stewart Companies. Stewart Group is one of the largest privately held companies in Central Pennsylvania, based on revenue.
This story has been updated to reflect the construction cost. The contractor also changed the completion date of the project from June to August.
