Lancaster County-based engineering firm Rettew Associates opened its 10th office this month. The new location, near State College in Centre County, is the second site the firm has opened in 2017.

The office will accommodate up to eight professionals from Rettew's energy and environmental group and complement efforts of the firm's Williamsport-area office, Rettew said in a news release Wednesday.

The firm's leaders feel the State College location gives them an opportunity to expand key areas of their business.

"As we strengthen our operations in the Northeast, we’re seeing more and more clients seeking services in renewable energy, water and wastewater engineering and stormwater management," Rettew president and CEO Mark Lauriello said in the release. "Rettew’s new State College office will enable our quality staff to provide their expertise on many environmental engineering projects throughout the region."

The office, located in the Penn State Innovation Park, is Rettew's sixth location in Pennsylvania. The firm also has offices in Ohio, West Virginia and Colorado.

Rettew opened its second Ohio office last month to support growing demand from the energy sector.
