Hershey Towne Square, a commercial redevelopment project in downtown Hershey, is quickly adding tenants.

Bennett Williams Commercial recently announced four leases in the new Derry Township center along West Chocolate Avenue, where site work for new commercial buildings began this fall.

The new structures will add about 32,000 square feet of space for shops and restaurants.

Fast-growing Jersey Mike's Subs has leased 1,645 square feet in the development. Other recent additions include: Iron Valley Real Estate, Great Clips and Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

Wormleysburg-based RVG Management & Development Co. is the developer on the $25 million project. The Cumberland County company bought the former Hershey post office property at 169 W. Chocolate Ave. last year after the previous owner failed to restructure financing for the nearly five-acre project.

Pittsburgh-based Primanti Bros. will serve as an anchor tenant. Bennett Williams also has commitments from Starbucks, T-Mobile, Beef Jerky Outlet, the U.S. Post Office and Freshido, according to a marketing flyer for the site.

Freshido, a fast-casual Asian restaurant, recently opened in downtown Harrisburg.

According to Bennett Williams, just two spaces — one at 1,148 square feet, the other at 2,516 square feet — remain available in the new buildings. Two other deals totaling more than 10,000 square feet are still pending.

The plan is to have the new buildings completed for tenant fit-out by April, with the first stores open by June 2018, the developer said in October.

The site also includes a renovated 60,000-square-foot building at the rear. Formerly a post office, the building is being marketed to commercial office users.
