Whiskey connoisseurs will have a chance this week to pick up some rare bottles through a limited-release lottery being conducted by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

The state will hold a drawing for six five-bottle packages of the complete Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, which costs $599.99 per collection. Additional drawings also will be held to award individual bottles of each whiskey in the collection, which are priced at $99.99 per bottle.

The five-bottle collection includes: Sazerac Rye 18 Year, a 90-proof whiskey; Eagle Rare 17 Year, a 90-proof whiskey; George T. Stagg, a 129.2-proof whiskey; William L. Weller, a 128.2-proof whiskey; and Thomas H. Handy, a 127.2-proof whiskey.

The PLCB also will sell 407 individual bottles of Thomas H. Handy, 192 bottles of William L. Weller, 165 bottles of George T. Stagg, 69 bottles of Eagle Rare and 39 bottles of Sazerac Rye.

Pennsylvania residents and licensees have until 11 p.m. Saturday to opt in to one or more of the drawings.

Drawings will be conducted the week of Oct. 23. All winning and non-winning entries expect to be notified by Nov. 1, according to the PLCB.
