Off The Clock: Vision Resources
Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania held its third annual Vision Bowl July 20 at ABC West Lanes in Mechanicsburg to bring awareness to eye diseases that rob individuals of their vision. The competition takes place in the third game when bowlers are required to wear special low-vision glasses that simulate the effects of macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts and diabetic retinopathy. The winning team, Living on a Spare, is shown: front from left, Beau Kirchner, Zander Kirchner, Tisha Kirchner, and at back, Dwayne Kohr.
Giant Food Stores began its annual Feeding Our Neighbors Every Day holiday campaign, which will provide 1.6 million meals to those in need across four states this Thanksgiving. The company donated 1,500 turkeys and $10,000 to Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, and 250 turkeys and $5,000 each to Bethesda Mission, New Hope Ministries and Project Share. Shown, from left, are Joe Arthur, Central PA Food Bank; Samantha Krepps, Giant Food Stores; Eric Saunders, New Hope Ministries; Scott Dunwoody, Bethesda Mission, and Bob Weed, Project Share.
