The Cumberland County-based company recently opened the pharmacy at its 19,000-square-foot Florida office in Bonita Springs.

BeneCard PBF is  pharmacy benefit manager that administers fixed-rate and self-funded prescription benefit programs, working with clients and consultants to lower prescription drug costs and improve clinical outcomes.

The new pharmacy is designed to expand BeneCard's services in the Southeast, company president Michael Perry said.

It is expected to result in faster shipping times for mail-order customers, as well as the ability for local customers to pick up prescriptions from the pharmacy or consult with a BeneCard PBF pharmacist in person, company officials added.

The company is headquartered in Lower Allen Township, where it also operates a pharmacy, and has offices in New Jersey. BeneCard's Florida office moved from Orlando to Bonita Springs last year.

The Florida site employs executives, operational staff and call center representatives, as well as pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
