#SheOwnsIt entrepreneurship forum planned in Lancaster
The Women's Business Center at Assets plans to hold an inaugural forum next week for women entrepreneurs.
The event, called the #SheOwnsIt Forum, is scheduled for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Candy Factory in Lancaster.
The forum will include networking opportunities and breakout sessions customized to fit participants' various stages of business, from the idea phase to the growth phase. Peabody Award-winning social entrepreneur and urban revitalization strategist Majora Carter will deliver the keynote address.
The cost to attend is $30, and registration details are available online. Free childcare is available for a limited number of attendees.
Assets, an economic development organization based in downtown Lancaster, formed its Women's Business Center in 2015 in partnership with the federal Small Business Administration. The center aims to cultivate an entrepreneurial climate that supports female business owners.
"The #SheOwnsIt Forum is going to advance the conversation and resources that we have in all of our programs," said Women's Business Center director Melisa Baez.
