York County restaurateur named board chairman for tourism bureau
The managing partner of Victor's Italian restaurant near York is the new chairman of the board for the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Mark Sindicich succeeds Liz Winand, who was board chair for the past two years, bureau officials announced Thursday.
Sindicich said he is excited to assume the new position, noting that York County’s tourism industry has seen increased visitor spending for six consecutive years, and is approaching $1 billion annually.
Before being selected as board chair, Sindicich served on the bureau's executive committee and as secretary from 2015 to 2017. He had joined the board in 2012.
"York County’s tourism industry is rolling, and Mark's business experience makes him well-suited to build upon recent successes," said Winand, who will remain on the board as immediate past chair.
Victor's, of Spring Garden Township, had earned national acclaim in 2014 when online site Thrillist named it one of Pennsylvania’s 10 best restaurants outside Philadelphia.
Sindicich holds a bachelor's degree in science, industrial and manufacturing engineering from Penn State University. Among other roles, he has served as COO of Bituminous Paving Materials of York Inc. for more than 23 years.
