Craft business puts down roots in downtown Lebanon
Veterans of the craft-show circuit, Michael and Cindy Fertig finally decided that the set-up and tear-down after each event was wearing them down.
"If only we had a place to set up our sales items and keep them in place, it would be so much more practical," Cindy Fertig recalled thinking after a show.
They've finally established that place: Fertig’s Something Bold Artisan and Craft Shop, a bricks-and-mortar storefront in downtown Lebanon, opened earlier this year. It is located at 706 Cumberland St.
But realizing their dream also gave the Fertigs a chance to help other crafters.
Something Bold offers other craft vendors spaces in the store, with an ID number so they can log in to the Fertigs' inventory system to keep track of their own stock, Cindy Fertig said.
The new business, which is a member of the Community of Lebanon Association, will hold a ribbon-cutting at the shop at 10 a.m. April 29.
And while the Fertigs are concentrating on the development of that business, they also plan to remain active in the area craft-show scene.
