Lebbie Lebkicher's is out and Fire & Grain is in as the new restaurant at the Hershey Lodge in Derry Township.

Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Co. announced the dining change today. The 2,800-square-foot Fire & Grain restaurant, which will be able to seat up to 272 people, is expected to open in mid-May.

The 50-year-old lodge had shut down Lebbie Lebkicher's at the end of January for renovations. Those renovations are transforming the space into Fire & Grain.

Construction is expected to cost $1.7 million.

Located in the main lobby of Hershey Lodge, the new restaurant will serve contemporary American comfort foods with an open kitchen concept. The menu will include breakfast favorites, baked pastas, local meat and cheese, flatbreads and more. Small plates and appetizers will promote sharing among groups.

The bar will serve an assortment of craft beers, wine and cocktails.

Fire & Grain will be open for breakfast, dinner and drinks. It will join other dining options at the lodge, including Hershey Grill Kitchen + Bar, The Bears' Den and The Forebay restaurants. The hotel also features the Cocoa Cabana snack bar and Cocoa Beanery cafe.

Shea Design of Minneapolis, Minn., is the designer on the project. Harrisburg-based Pyramid Construction Services Inc., part of Quandel Enterprises Inc., is the general contractor. Other partners include Harrisburg mechanical contractors H.B. McClure Co. and Edwin L. Heim Co. and Chester County-based Singer Equipment Co., a food-service equipment dealer.

My wife was telling me about this new Fire & Grain place. I had it in my mind that it was going to be called Fire and Ice, but that sounds a bit more like a strippers club - haha. Anyhow, looking forward to eating there...Fire and Grain that is. LOL

We just went out over there last week expecting to eat at Lebkichers. Oh well, there's other great food there.

How interesting. Wife and I used to live just outside of Derry Township. Lebbie Lebkichers was our "go to" restaurant. My favorite was their eggs benedict. Glad to see though that Hershey's is innovating.
