Mandy Arnold has been named president of the board of directors for York's Downtown Inc.

Arnold, CEO of York’s Gavin Advertising, will head the nonprofit’s board for the new year.

Others on the Downtown Inc executive committee are:

  • Vice president: Eric Menzer, president of the York Revolution baseball team.
  • Secretary: Patti Stirk, founder of York’s SMALL STAR Art House.
  • Treasurer: Joseph Clark, general counsel, The Stewart Companies.
  • Past president, Krista Darr, Fulton Bank.

Downtown Inc board members are: Hilary Arthur, Arthur & Daughters; Z. Dylan Bauer, Royal Square Development, Rev. Larry Covin, Trinity UCC Church; John Klinedinst, C.S. Davidson Inc.; and Gary Sonke, Stock and Leader law firm.

Arnold told the Business Journal on Monday that downtown York "holds enormous opportunity, and we know that Downtown Inc plays a vital role in representing the interests of individuals, businesses and community stakeholders" as the city's downtown becomes more and more "an essential part of York’s overall economic competitiveness," she said.

"As a leading downtown voice and collaborator for York’s greater prosperity, our vision is to be a national model for community success," Arnold added.

Downtown Inc this past fall appointed Silas Chamberlin as its new CEO. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization.
