Manufacturer plans new training center in Carlisle areaCarlisle Construction Materials to build "hands-on" facility by late 2017
A Carlisle manufacturer of commercial roofing products is building a new training center, and a York County architectural and structural engineering firm has been selected to provide design and construction services for the project.
Carlisle Construction Materials plans to break ground by this fall for the facility, to be built on Ritner Highway in front of the firm’s membrane manufacturing facility, the company said.
Carlisle makes building products for the commercial and residential construction markets, and employs over 2,000 people, company spokesman Robert Reale said Tuesday.
The training center will be used for “hands-on installation training as well as classroom training” for roofing contractors, architects, roofing consultants and employees, in everything from small groups to larger classes of 100-plus students in multiple-day sessions, Reale said.
Carlisle Construction Materials is based at 1285 Ritner Highway in Carlisle. Reale declined to give an estimated cost of the new facility.
Providing the design and construction services will be CORE Design Group, which is in York, Hanover and North East, Md.
The new training center will include a 125-person conference auditorium with tiered seating and a stage area, plus multiple breakout rooms, offices, catering facilities and other amenities, CORE Design said.
The center is expected to open in the third quarter of 2017, Reale added.
