A growing West Shore pilates brand has expanded to the East Shore.

Absolute Pilates, which has three locations in Cumberland County, is opening its fourth fitness studio at Blue Ridge Country Club on Linglestown Road in Lower Paxton Township.

A free health and wellness event for Absolute Pilates East, a boutique pilates and barre studio, will be held May 1.

Allison Zang, the founder of Absolute Pilates, who co-owns the East Shore location with Tori Levine, owner of Babies at the Barre, said clients have been asking her for years to open a Dauphin County studio.

But she never found the right fit until the country club approached her about  available space.

"We're excited to partner with (the country club)," said Zang, who sees a lot of overlap in the movements between golf and pilates.

Absolute Pilates partners with Burn30 Personal Fitness in Lemoyne and Hampden Township. It also has a studio in the Walden community owned by Charter Homes & Neighborhoods in Silver Spring Township.

Zang also is the co-owner of The Studio by Absolute Pilates in Charter's new Arcona community in Lower Allen Township.

"Anywhere where small businesses can help other small businesses is always better," she said of the partnerships.

And she is not opposed to looking outside the area for continued growth of the brand, she said. "Who knows what 2017 will bring?"
