York-based The Manufacturers' Association has become the latest organization to join the Pennsylvania Energy Infrastructure Alliance.

“Utilizing Pennsylvania’s abundant natural resources and investing in its energy infrastructure is vital to ensuring that local businesses can compete in a global market,” said Tom Palisin, executive director of The Manufacturers' Association.

The Pennsylvania Energy Infrastructure Alliance was founded in June as a coalition of labor groups and chambers of commerce from the state's eastern and western regions.

Its stated goal is to support investments to modernize energy infrastructure to ensure reliable access to low-cost energy.

The Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC also is among more than a dozen members to join the group.

“Pipeline projects are instrumental to the long-term economic success of communities in the south-central region of the commonwealth and will help create quality employment opportunities for area residents," Palisin said.
