Former Maewyn's Irish Pub in York purchased

By ,

The former Maewyn's Irish Pub & Restaurant has been sold.

Ben Chiaro, a brokerage adviser with Rock Commercial Real Estate LLC, confirmed Thursday afternoon that the building at 110 N. George St. was sold,  but he would not reveal the buyer.

The asking price for the building was $750,000, Chiaro said.

Maewyn's closed in July 2014 and remained unsold until now because its previous owner, 110 N. George LP, originally intended to lease the building, Chiaro said.

"They decided it was in their best interest to sell it," he noted.

According to a real estate listing, the nearly 7,800-square-foot building has two floors, both with bars, a basement space, hardwood floors, stained glass and a tin ceiling.
