Burn30 expanding fitness business to Hampden Township
Lemoyne-based Burn30 Personal Fitness is expanding to a second location in Hampden Township.
The new location will open Oct. 1 at 2250 Millennium Way, next to Al's of Hampden and Pizza Boy Brewing.
Growth in that area off the Wertzville Road exit of Interstate 81 made it an ideal location, said Mary Webber Weston, owner of Burn30.
Plus, there are a lot of health-related entities nearby, such as the West Shore Hospital, Fredricksen Outpatient Center and the Capital BlueCross health and wellness store.
Burn30 moved to 836 Market St. in Lemoyne in 2013. The business started in Camp Hill in 2010 and Webber Weston bought it in 2012.
"I was a client when the previous owner decided he wanted to close it," said Webber Weston, who owns Webber Associates, a government affairs consulting firm. "I looked at other facilities around the area and I realized I liked going to Burn30. It's small and personable."
So she decided to buy the business.
When Burn30 got started, it had one trainer and one client, said Becky Liesch, the manager. Today it's up to 70 clients and four trainers.
"We're looking to hire a few more," she said, noting that she expects the Enola-area location to grow faster than Lemoyne.
Webber Weston said she is "nowhere near" franchising the company. "I'm not thinking that far ahead at this point."
Burn30 is leasing 1,500 square feet. That includes space for its partner, Absolute Pilates.
