PeoplesBank names new COO
PeoplesBank has found a new COO, naming Dwight Utz to a position that has been open since April.
Utz — who is not directly related to the Utz snack family — comes to York Township-based PeoplesBank from North Carolina, where he had been president and CEO of East Carolina Bank before it was acquired by another bank.
He moved on to the new bank, VantageSouth, as president but had left by the time VantageSouth was acquired by another North Carolina bank in 2014.
He is no stranger to the area, having received a degree from Central Pennsylvania College and worked at Cumberland County National Bank (CCNB) before it was acquired by PNC Bank in 1993. He stayed on with PNC.
The bank’s COO position had been open since April when former COO Michael Allen resigned. No reason for the resignation was given.
PeoplesBank is a subsidiary of Cordorus Valley Bancorp Inc., which has about $1.3 billion in assets and trades its shares on the NASDAQ exchange at CVLY. It has 25 branches and loan processing centers in York and Cumberland counties, as well as in Maryland.
