York County marketing, publishing firm YGS Group expands to Washington state

A York County-based marketing and publishing company recently acquired a Seattle-area printing and marketing company in an effort to grow and serve customers coast-to-coast.

The YGS Group Inc., headquartered in West Manchester Township, acquired Print Management earlier this month, according to a company news release.

YGS CEO Jim Kell said the goal in acquiring Print Management from former owners Tim and Paula O’Leary was to grow the company’s brand by filling an underserved market in Washington state.

“Print Management has experienced much success under the leadership of the O’Leary’s, and it is my goal to continue that success with the team at the Tukwila, Wash., office,” he said in the release.“Our east and west coast production and warehouse facilities and sales offices throughout North America will allow us to further expand our brand and offer marketing, publishing, and printing solutions to clients across the country.”

By adding the new office, YGS has two locations. The company’s biggest markets are Washington, D.C., New York City and Seattle, but it also has clients in Chicago, Baltimore, Philadelphia and in the midstate, said marketing account manager Kali Eskew. Also, the company’s content sales and licensing and media sales divisions sell across the country.

“By adding the second location in Seattle, our East Coast clients can experience some cost savings and efficiencies when needing to print/ship items out West, as that can be done from the Seattle location,” Eskew said in an email. “In addition, the clients that were part of Print Management now have more opportunities to complete their marketing, publishing and printing needs with one company, as our full service model in York can help meet their business needs.”

With the acquisition comes 22 new employees that will be added to YGS’s 157 employees, Eskew said. The financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
