John Reardon has been named the new executive director of The Arc of Cumberland and Perry Counties, the nonprofit announced today.
He will succeed Vincent "Jim" Gurreri, who CPARC announced in July would retire this month after 37 years of service at the organization.
“The search committee conducted an extensive process for approximately five months and was thrilled to conclude the search with recommending John to the board," CPARC board president Kelly Neiderer said in a news release. "CPARC is a strong organization and we look forward to John bringing his wide range of experience and knowledge to guide a future path to further enhance services for our service recipients.”
Reardon was previously the CEO of Niagara Cerebral Palsy of New York, where he was heavily involved in the community, the release says.
Licensed nationally as a speech-language pathologist, Reardon has a master’s degree in speech pathology from Northern Illinois University and a bachelor’s degree in speech and hearing from State University of New York at Oneonta.
CPARC works with individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs, serving more than 1,700 individuals annually.
