Michael Warehime, longtime corporate leader and chairman of the Snyder's-Lance board of directors, died over the weekend.

Warehime, of Heidelberg Township, York County, served as board chairman at Snyder's-Lance since December 2010. He was the chairman of the board of Snyder's before the merger with Lance.

According to a funeral notice today, Warehime, 73, died Saturday at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hanover.

“We are deeply saddened at the loss of our chairman, Mr. Michael Warehime," said Carl Lee, president and CEO of Snyder's-Lance. "Michael was an extraordinary leader whose drive to build a successful company was reflected in his vision and strategy for Snyder’s-Lance. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Warehime family during this difficult time.”

A Hanover native, Warehime forged a lengthy career as a successful business leader.

From 1973 to 1992, he served as the chairman and a director of Farmers Bank & Trust Co. Warehime also was the president of Warehime Enterprises Inc., ARWCO Corp. and MAW Associates LP and the co-chairman and CEO of Seafood America.

Snyder's-Lance spokesman Joey Shevlin had no comment or information on the plan to name a new board chairman.
