A grilled cheese restaurant known for its appearance on “Shark Tank” will open its first Pennsylvania location on Sept. 12.
The 100-seat, 2,400-square-foot restaurant will be at Overlook Town Center, 2080 Grand St., Manheim Township.
“My husband and I have wanted to open our own business for some time, and when we saw Tom+Chee on Shark Tank, we knew it was perfect for us,” franchisee Pam Hoffmaster said in a news release.
Tom+Chee co-founders Corey Ward and Trew Quackenbush are scheduled to attend the grand opening. Originally started as a food tent in Cincinnati, the enterprise has grown significantly since they pitched it on ABC’s “Shark Tank” in May 2013. The franchise currently has 150 stores under contract in 20 states, according to the release.
Tom+Chee offers more than 20 types of grilled cheese sandwiches, plus fresh salads, three versions of tomato soup, and specials. The entire menu is made fresh, with no fryers, freezers or microwaves, and offers a variety of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
The Lancaster Tom+Chee will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will allow for outdoor dining on its 30-seat patio.
