WellSpan creates fund at YCCF to support EMS regionalization

By

WellSpan Health and York County Community Foundation are working together on a new fund designed to encourage emergency medical services providers in York County "to work toward a more coordinated, regional EMS system that effectively meets the needs of York County communities."

WellSpan established the fund with $500,000 and hopes to grow it to $1 million by encouraging new donations through a $250,000 match, according to a press advisory issued today,.

YCCF and its volunteer distribution committee will oversee the grantmaking process, the advisory said. It also noted that YCCF granted a total of $2.7 million in 2013.

More details on the initiative will be released at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20.
