Wyomissing-based Penn National Gaming Inc. announced Wednesday its second opening date for a new Ohio casino.
Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course, near Youngstown, will open Sept. 17, a few weeks after the opening date of Aug. 28 for Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway.
The company will then open the reconstructed horse racing track on Nov. 24, the company said in a news release Wednesday. The $250 million casino will open with 850 video lottery terminals, which are similar to slot machines.
Penn National, which operates Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Dauphin County, is also in the construction phase of casinos in Massachusetts and California and has applied for a license with a plan in place for another casino in upstate New York.
The company trades on the NASDAQ exchange under the ticker symbol PENN.
