Spring Garden Township-based RG Group, a motion control and fluid-handling products distributor and manufacturer, has named Rich Freeh as its president and CEO.

Freeh, who has been with the company for 25 years and was the COO, replaces Randy Gross as CEO. Gross assumes the role of executive chairman of the York County company’s board, the firm said in a news release.

“We are all pleased to have Rich take the next step in his leadership of the RG Group business,” Gross said. “Rich and I have worked very closely over the past 5 years in his COO role and I am extremely confident in Rich’s ability to provide the execution and strategic direction necessary for the company to continue its growth and maintain its exemplary standard of customer service.”

The RG Group serves customers from 11 branch locations in the Mid-Atlantic region.

“I’m extremely excited about the future of the RG Group,” Freeh said. “We believe we are in a great market position going forward. Our customer base is looking for on-demand engineering and manufacturing expertise from their vendors, which is truly our area of expertise. Our service-based technical solutions offer customers a competitive advantage with a lower total cost of ownership.”

Freeh has worked in the industrial distribution and manufacturing sectors for more than 35 years. He and his wife, Jan, live in New Cumberland.

The company also has named Michael Kay, the owner of MJK Consulting, as its vice chairman and lead board director. Kay has been on the board for the last two years.
