The transition team for the new Lebanon County tourism promotion agency is looking for help to shape the new board.
The group has scheduled a series of public meetings throughout the county to solicit input from the tourism business community and the public to decide how the group should be formed and what specific directions it should take once it is formed.
In September, the team expects to recommend a board to the Lebanon County Board of Commissioners, which will then hire an administrator and market the Lebanon Valley as a tourist destination. The input from the public focus group meetings is expected to guide the new board in marketing the region.
The scheduled meetings are:
• Hampton Inn on Route 72, near the Pennsylvania Turnpike, 1 p.m. Aug. 11
• Holiday Inn near Penn National Race Course on Route 743, 7 p.m. Aug 12
• Quality Inn/Lantern Lodge, 411 N. College St., Myerstown, 10 a.m. Aug. 13
• Days Inn, Route 72, Lebanon, 7 p.m. Aug. 14
The group also is taking applications for board members during these meetings.
