The Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities has a new resource for start-up businesses looking to raise capital.
The department has added a new “Entrepreneur Education” section to its website that helps small-business owners and financial professionals through the process of raising capital in compliance with the Pennsylvania Securities Act of 1972, which governs the offers and sales of securities in the state.
“People tend to be more willing to invest in a company that has a clear focus on its objectives and how it will achieve them,” Secretary of Banking and Securities Glenn E. Moyer said. “The new ‘Entrepreneur Education’ section of our website was developed by our professional staff to help businesses achieve that focus.”
The new section addresses issues such as:
• How to raise capital
• Disclosure and your securities offering
• Registering your securities offering
• Information on exemptions to the Pennsylvania Securities Act of 1972.
