So, what do you think is going to happen on Halbig?
If you don’t know what I mean by that, I adjure you to read first my June 19 blog on the issue and then Tuesday’s story about the ruling. Technically it’s rulings, plural, I know — but practically, Halbig’s getting all the attention, because it’s the one that says the IRS and Obama administration are wrong and it could stop significant subsidies to many Americans if it’s upheld.
As things stand, it doesn’t sound as if things will be nailed down for a while. So, there’s a lot of room for speculation — and so, I ask, what do you think is going to happen on Halbig?
Actually, given the en banc possibilities (again, go read those articles!), that’s too broad. Let’s make it this narrow:
• Do you think the question will make it to the Supreme Court?
• Do you think the Supreme Court will rule against the Obama administration and the IRS?
• If it did, do you think havoc will be wreaked, or do you think some kind of accommodation will be found to allow the subsidies to continue?
I’m eager to hear what you think.
