Report: Foreclosure filings down 4 percent in Pa. through June

Foreclosure activity was down 4.2 percent in Pennsylvania through the first half of the year and 7.4 percent from the previous six months, according to California-based RealtyTrac Inc.

There were 25,654 properties with foreclosure filings in the commonwealth through June.

In the U.S., there were 613,874 filings, which was down 23 percent from the first half of 2013, according to RealtyTrac.

For the month of June, there were 1,409 foreclosure starts in Pennsylvania, which was down 35.4 percent compared to last June. There were 882 completions for the month, which was down 16.6 percent from June 2013.

Nationally, there were nearly 27,000 completions in June, a 24.3 percent decline over the year, according to RealtyTrac.
