The parent company of Harrisburg-based Alexander Building Construction Co., Butz Enterprises Inc., is the only Pennsylvania-based organization on this year's list of the top 100 construction management-at-risk firms.
That list is compiled by Engineering News-Record, or ENR. The magazine, which is owned by McGraw-Hill Cos., ranks the top firms in the country based on total revenue from the previous year.
Allentown-based Butz was No. 84 on this year’s list with $275.8 million in revenue.
CM-at-risk is a commonly used project delivery method, where a contractor is hired by the owner during design to assist in preconstruction management support. During construction, it then serves as a general contractor and is responsible for work performance.
Last year, Butz companies oversaw a variety of projects, including a Lancaster General Hospital health center in Chester County.
Alexander posted 2013 revenue of $74.3 million, according to Business Journal records. That was up from $51.3 million in 2012.
