The Hershey Plaza sold in $15.25 million deal
HSY Plaza Partners LP has purchased the landmark Hershey Plaza in downtown Derry Township.
The plaza, at 215 W. Chocolate Ave., is a 216-unit apartment building serving elderly and disabled residents who qualify for subsidized affordable housing. It includes a 20,000-square-foot commercial shopping center along West Chocolate Avenue.
The $11.4 million mortgage was filed June 18 at the Dauphin County Courthouse. Wells Fargo Bank is the mortgagee. According to the deed filed with the courthouse, HSY paid $15.25 million total for the property transaction.
Mortgage records list the same address for HSY Plaza Partners and Brickbox Enterprises Ltd., which manages more than 300 apartment units and approximately 300,000 square feet of commercial space, primarily in Cumberland, Dauphin and York counties.
Dan Deitchman, owner of Brickbox, in Lower Allen Township, is listed as a general partner on the Hershey Plaza mortgage.
Drew Bobincheck, CCIM, and Chuck Heller of Landmark Commercial Realty Inc. represented HSY Plaza Partners in the transaction.
Brad Hilbish, vice president of commercial banking at Wells Fargo, in its Camp Hill office, along with Joe Sigle, the regional sales leader, handled the financing.
