Every industry has its season — try making your way through the mall in mid-December or getting your accountant on the phone in mid-April. For real estate professionals, June is the top of the market every year. While our business is not strictly tied to months, the cycles hold true and tons of settlements are happening right now around the midstate.
Stress levels can be very high right now for real estate agents, both from the sheer volume of transactions they are juggling (all coming to a head at the end of the month) and also from the difficulty level of many sales. Messy home inspections, short appraisals, negotiating changes to contracts while planning closing locations and times — all on your phone! That’s a typical morning right now for the busy agent.
As I travel around to our offices to do my regular “marketing days” meeting with agents and teams about their business, I am confronted daily with the complexity of being at the top of the market. And this year seems particularly busy. I was in our Wyomissing office for the day Wednesday and watched as the phones rang almost constantly around me and my appointments asked for a minute to step outside and wrangle something with another agent or a client.
Did I mention that it’s exhilarating? This is another reason why I love real estate.
So shake your Realtor friends’ hands and wish them well in their high season. Fall will be here soon enough…
