In brief: Hersha opens fifth Hampton Inn in Manhattan

Harrisburg-based Hersha Hospitality Trust now has five Hampton Inn hotels in Manhattan.

The trust, which has 14 hotels in its Manhattan portfolio, opened the 81-room Hampton Inn Downtown Financial District at the corner of Pearl and Moore streets near Battery Park, according to a news release.

The company owns a total of 52 hotels totaling 8,403 rooms. Other than New York, those properties are located in Boston, Miami, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and select markets on the West Coast.

Shares of Hersha stock are traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol HT.
