Harrisburg move boosts Concentra's business

By

A relocation has yielded big returns for Concentra, with a more-visible and more-accessible facility drawing twice as many urgent care visits as the previous location and 33 percent more physical therapy visits.

The company also reports that total daily visits are up nearly 16 percent since it began accepting patients at the new site in mid-December, and employer service visits for physicals and labs have risen nearly nine percent.

Concentra's Harrisburg East Center had been at 4400 Lewis Road in Swatara Township since May 1997, according to Tony Culp, the company's area operations director. The new place is at 4200 Union Deposit Road in Lower Paxton Township, where the Evergreen Chinese Restaurant used to be.

Culp said Concentra is leasing the site, which was torn down and rebuilt from the pad up by Susquehanna Township-based A. P. Williams Inc. The center also added three full-time jobs and one part-time job when it relocated, bringing its total workforce to 22.

The center is a joint venture with PinnacleHealth System, according to Concentra.
