It's official: Prudential Homesale Services Group is now Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Homesale Realty.

Announced in March, the name change was finalized Wednesday.

The Manor Township-based residential real estate broker is the largest in Central Pennsylvania. The company was No. 22 in the country for closed transactions with 13,203 and No. 46 for sales volume with $2.51 billion.

The local Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices affiliate operates 28 offices in Pennsylvania and the greater Baltimore area in Maryland. It serves 11 contiguous counties in southcentral Pennsylvania.

Doug Rebert, the firm’s co-managing director, said he is expecting home purchases to grow by 3 percent to 5 percent this year, despite rough winter conditions that delayed sales activity in the first quarter.

Homesale Realty has about 1,150 agents. Rebert said earlier this year that he would like to add 140 new agents and 30 to 40 seasoned professionals to the firm’s ranks in 2014.
