York County Economic Alliance, PEL hosts regional talk about CRIZ

By

The Pennsylvania Economy League and the York County Economic Alliance held an issues forum Thursday afternoon for economic development leaders to discuss the use of City Revitalization Improvement Zones.

CRIZ works to spur urban development by diverting tax dollars to create investment zones where underutilized properties can be revitalized, according to the PEL and YCEA.

York was one of five cities that applied for the state's first round of CRIZ designations, but Lancaster and Bethlehem were chosen instead.

York officials say they will apply for the second round of designations.
