Traditions of America LP, the Delaware County-based developer of 55-plus communities — including three in Cumberland and Lancaster counties — has hired a new CFO, the company announced Wednesday.
Mervin Singson, a 14-year veteran of the homebuilding industry, has been tapped for the job.
He replaces Peter Yesner, who has moved to another executive position within the organization. TOA officials declined to comment on his new role. Yesner has been with the company since 2002, according to his LinkedIn profile.
“We are delighted to welcome a professional with a proven track record in new home construction,” Timothy McCarthy, the company’s managing partner, said in a statement about Singson. “Traditions of America did not simply survive the housing downturn, we thrived. Mervin will play a critical role in helping us maintain this market-busting sales pace and strengthen Traditions’ positioning for future growth.”
Construction has begun on the first phase of development at TOA’s 55-plus community in Warwick Township. The Lititz community has garnered significant attention from buyers since presale activity began last fall.
Singson most recently served as vice president of finance for Orleans Homebuilders, based in Bensalem. He was responsible for feasibility studies and negotiating new land deals, among other activities. Prior to that, he helped Beazer Homes Inc. in its efforts to launch a second northern California division.
Singson received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.
