Hershey VP takes Ahold’s new VP marketing job
Ahold USA has hired a Hershey Co. vice president for its newly created position of vice president of marketing.
In this role, she will head up strategic marketing initiatives, market insights and analytics, advertising, promotion, brand development, corporate communications, innovation, digital strategy and execution. She will also be responsible for developing digital retailing and loyalty plans, according to the release.
At Hershey, Hahn most recently served as the global vice president/general manager for direct retail and licensing, where she led a 700-person team, expanding Hershey's presence across North America, Asia and the Middle East.
She worked her way up over 20 years, starting in engineering and supply chain, and moving to brand management and product merchandising. Hahn also led the revitalization of Hershey's e-commerce and Web business, according to the news release.
She has an MBA and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State University.
"Amy brings a wealth of retail marketing experience to her new role with Ahold USA and will be utilizing her expertise to drive the voice of the consumer throughout all of our communications and loyalty initiatives," said Jan van Dam, executive vice president, marketing, supply chain and e-commerce.
Ahold USA is part of Ahold, a Dutch-based international food retailing group that operates supermarkets in the United States and Europe. Ahold USA supports four regional divisions — Giant Carlisle, Stop & Shop New England, Stop & Shop New York Metro and Giant Landover, Md. — that together operate nearly 770 supermarkets with approximately 120,000 associates in 14 states and the District of Columbia.
