TechCelerator at Carlisle entrepreneur presentation Thursday

By ,

Three companies will compete for $10,000 worth of funding for their startup companies Thursday during a presentation at the Ben Franklin TechCelerator @ Carlisle.

The three companies are the last standing after eight started an eight-week boot-camp-type instruction at the TechCelerator to help determine whether potential companies should make the move into business world.

Here are the three companies:

• Tripdivvy, a Web-based platform providing a solution to problems associated with cost sharing in the vacation rental market.

• Global Associates LLC, which has developed an objective accessibility checklist allowing retail centers to assess their Americans with Disabilities Act compliance in two hours.

• Local, a print magazine focusing on small towns or cities in America.

The three companies will make pitches to a panel of judges on the viability of their products, and the $10,000 prize will be awarded and possibly divided at the judges’ discretion, according to Ross Gibson-Delasin, associate portfolio manager at Ben Franklin Technology Partners, which hosts the TechCelerator program.

The companies also will have access to the shared workspace at the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern Pennsylvania space in Carlisle.

TechCelerator started with eight companies, but four were early withdrawals and one had a different business that took off during the TechCelerator and the owner didn’t have time to devote to the potential startup, Gibson-Delasin said.

The program was developed by Ben Franklin Technology Partners and the Capital Regional Economic Development Corp.

The presentations are open to the public.
