Chocolatetown Motel on the auction block

By

A Derry Township motel is currently the seventh most-popular Pennsylvania listing on LoopNet.com, the leading online marketplace for commercial real estate.

That’s because the 26-unit Chocolatetown Motel at 1806 E. Chocolate Ave. is being auctioned off Friday. Online bidding closes at noon, according to the listing.

Virginia-based Nicholls Auction Marketing Group is conducting the auction on behalf of the Clair Good estate.

The two-story brick motel is nearly 9,700 square feet and sits on about 1.3 acres. Chocolatetown has an assessed value of nearly $708,000, according to Dauphin County property records.

Nicholls opened the bidding at $250,000. There were 10 bids as of 9:15 a.m. today, with the high bid at $875,000.
