Home permits off nearly 30 percent this year
Residential permits in Central Pennsylvania are running nearly 30 percent behind last year's pace, according to preliminary data released today by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Of the four primary metropolitan areas covered by the Business Journal, only Lebanon County is trending ahead of 2013 through February. There were 28 permits after two months, which was up from 22 last year.
In total, there were 272 residential permits after two months. That is down 27.5 percent from last year.
And the value of those permits was $54.3 million, or 17.3 percent, less than the two-month total last year.
