Hospitality Asset Management Co. acquires Carlisle Comfort Suites
Hospitality Asset Management Co. Inc. of State College has acquired Carlisle Comfort Suites Hotel at 10 S. Hanover St., effective March 6.
"We are pleased to welcome Comfort Suites to the HAMCO Hotels menu of options for overnight accommodations in Central Pennsylvania" said Mark Morath, CEO of Hospitality Asset Management Company Inc. "The services and accommodations that will be provided to our guests at the Comfort Suites nicely complement our other properties and offer an excellent choice for leisure or business needs."
Hospitality Asset Management operates six lodging properties and two restaurant establishments in State College: the Days Inn Penn State, the Hilton Garden Inn, Super 8, Quality Inn, Nittany Budget Motel, the AAA Four Diamond Carnegie Inn & Spa, Gigi's Restaurant and the Carnegie House Restaurant.
The Cumberland Area Economic Development Corp. announced the sale in a news release today. CAEDC assisted HAMCO with the acquisition and renovation funds for Comfort Suites Carlisle through the Cumberland Small Business Fund and the Tourism Infrastructure Loan Fund, the release said.
"We see a lot of value in this project and acquisition due to our ability to assist in the financing through our county revolving loan funds to retain existing jobs and assist in the renovations and improvements to a key hotel in downtown Carlisle," said Jonathan Bowser, CAEDC CEO. "The Comfort Suites is an important hotel property for tourism, meetings, and business travel."
The hotel sold for $6.2 million, Bowser said.
The Comfort Suites features 99 guest rooms and six jacuzzi suites. The hotel features convertible meeting space with facilities for up to 400 event participants, a full-service lounge and restaurant.
