Millers Mutual Group Inc.'s board of directors named a Lancaster County resident as its new leader Wednesday.
Scott A. Orndorff takes over as the company's president and CEO after serving in senior leadership roles at other Central Pennsylvania insurance companies, according to a news release from the company.
Millers Mutual said Orndorff is credited with playing an integral role in growing premium revenues and profitability while also driving operating improvements.
His last position was as a senior executive with Westfield Insurance Co., providing strategic leadership for a specialty division focused on workers compensation, agribusiness and transportation.
Orndorff lives with his wife and three children in Manheim, according to the news release.
"He has successfully built insurance enterprises by focusing on profitable growth in targeted lines of business, establishing strategic partnerships and joint ventures to enhance customer options, and focusing on the needs of both customers and agents," said board of directors Chairman Scott Newkam. "His breadth and depth of perspective make him the ideal person to build on the strong foundation Bob Lyon established over two decades."
Millers Mutual, on Front Street in Harrisburg, is a property and casualty insurer serving commercial policyholders in Pennsylvania and three other states, as well as the District of Columbia.
