Indoor football team Pennsylvania Steam picks Spooky Nook as training facility
The Pennsylvania Steam professional indoor football team has selected Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster County as its official training facility for the 2014 season, the organizations announced today.
The Steam is part of the X-League and was awarded an expansion team to begin play this spring at the Santander Arena in Reading. Spooky Nook in East Hempfield Township will provide on-site training for the Steam duringpreseason and regular season training.
“The opportunity to train at a world class facility like Spooky Nook will give us a leg up on the competition,” Shane Houser, head coach of the Steam, said in a news release. “We are extremely excited, and look forward to putting in the time at this one of a kind facility while we prepare for our inaugural season in 2014.”
Spooky Nook is the largest indoor sports complex in the country, with more than 700,000 square feet under one roof and more than 50 acres of outdoor facilities. Last January the U.S. women’s national field hockey team announced that it was making Spooky Nook its home.
