A company offering to create prototypes for research and development tooling for medical device manufacturers opened its doors Feb. 4 in York County.
Clifford CNC Tooling Surgeon LLC is located at the rear of 209 1/2 High St. in Hanover. The micro-machining company specializes in electrical discharge machining EDM wire work and will utilize two new Mitsubishi machines.
Owner and operator Neil F. Clifford of New Oxford describes himself as a manufacturing tooling engineer. He said he holds a degree from Penn State York, began his career in 1978 and has worked for Riley Welding & Fabricating in Hanover, McDonnell Douglas in California and Unilife Corp. in York County.
Clifford says the business will begin with one employee and he plans to expand to three or four employees in the next three years as the business grows.
