Snyder's of Hanover launched two new product lines this month aimed at providing more healthy snacks for consumers.
This week, the company announced two new, gluten-free pretzel varieties. Snyder’s cited an annual study by NPD Group showing that nearly one-third of Americans are looking to reduce their current gluten intake.
The new pretzels are available in honey mustard and onion or hot buffalo wing flavors. The new flavors are in addition to Snyder’s gluten-free pretzel sticks and mini pretzels.
“Consumers seeking gluten-free snacks do not want to give up flavor,” said Bob Gould, marketing manager for Snyder’s of Hanover. “By offering our two most popular pretzel flavors in a gluten-free variety, we’re able to provide expanded options for shoppers looking to remove the gluten in their daily diets.”
The new pretzel line is certified by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization and are dairy-free, casein-free and egg-free.
Last week, Snyder’s announced its new Korn Krunchers line, available in barbecue, nacho grande and hot chili lime. The corn snacks are baked instead of fried, which the company said reduced fat by 30 percent.
Snyder’s of Hanover is a subsidiary of Snyder’s-Lance Inc., headquartered in Charlotte, N.C.
