Michael Fisher has been named new general manager for Harley-Davidson's Vehicle Operations Plant in Springettsbury Township, York County.

Fisher succeeds Ed Magee, who announced his departure Friday after nearly 10 years with the company. Since joining Harley-Davidson in 1994 as a production employee, Fisher has moved up to several leadership roles over the years, including process leader, product plant manager and director of operations.

"Most recently, Fisher was the director of manufacturing systems and was responsible for leading the implementation of the Continuous Improvement System across all Harley-Davidson manufacturing operations," company spokeswoman Bernadette Lauer said in a statement.

Fisher takes over as general manager Feb. 17.

Magee, who has been overseeing the York County plant since 2009, departs Feb. 14.
