Delaware Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors gave Wohlsen Construction Co. of Lancaster five Excellence in Construction awards, including a first-place award for a patient room project at Jennersville Regional Hospital in Chester County. The project included a 13,000-square-foot addition and 24,000 square feet of renovations. Hart Freeland Roberts Inc. was the project architect. Merit awards were received for additions and renovation to Unionville High School in Center County, designed by MM Architects, and for intensive care unit renovations at Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Del., which was designed by Wilmot Sanz. An honorable mention award was received for the additions and renovations to Universal Health Services Inc.'s Dover Behavioral Health facility in Delaware, which was designed by Array Architects. A Green Excellence award was received for Hamilton Health Center's medical and dental clinic in Harrisburg, which was designed by ABDesign LLC. The 70,000 square-foot facility included 37 medical exam rooms, 12 dental exam rooms, a pharmacy, a full-service lab and an imaging department. The project included a full roof replacement, new HVAC and electrical systems, a 76-well geothermal system, low VOC (volatile organic compounds) building materials and an underground stormwater retention system.

Clifton Park, N.Y.-based North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners named Tim Beiler a certified solar heating installer, Nathan Charles a certified PV installation professional, and Jason Beiler and Sheldon Stutzman certified PV technical sales professionals. Tim Beiler is principal, CEO and general manager of Paradise Energy Solutions in Salisbury Township. Charles is an engineer with the firm; Jason Beiler is a principal and general manager of the Salisbury, Md., office; and Stutzman is a solar consultant with the Sugarcreek branch in Ohio.
Nebraska-based National Research Corp. and Gaithersburg, Md.-based DecisionHealth named Healthsouth Reading Rehab at Home of Berks County, Southeastern Home Care Services of PA LLC and VNA Community Care Services of Lancaster County to their 2013 list of national HomeCare Elite agencies. NRC uses Medicare performance data for more than 10,000 companies in determining the list.
