A new public relations firm — Ch@tterbox Communications — opened its doors today in Derry Township.

Founded by Dauphin County residents Kathy Geller Myers and Heather Zell, the home-based consulting business at 1220 Auburn Ave. will focus on public and media relations, event planning and outreach campaigns.

Geller Myers and Zell, who met more than a decade ago while working for Neiman Group in Harrisburg, have worked with a variety of corporate and nonprofit clients.

The former has been in the public relations field for more than 20 years, where she spent time coordinating strategic communications campaigns for nonprofit organizations. Geller Myers recently worked for White Good in Lancaster before venturing out on her own. She previously did national public relations for Youth Advocate Programs Inc. in Harrisburg.

Zell has devoted much of her career, which spans more than 15 years, to event planning, branding and health care communications consulting. She has been working as director of business development for the Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital.

The partners called the launch of this new venture a "dream come true" and an opportunity to bring "out-of-the-box" thinking to clients who share their passion.

Ch@tterbox plans to initially focus on serving local clients.

"We want to establish ourselves here," Geller Myers said.

On the event planning side, corporate clients in need of help with large conferences and annual meetings will be the primary focus, she said.
