Upper Allen Township-based CenterPoint Engineering Inc. named James J. Badaczewski vice president, principal and director of electrical engineering. He has more than 26 years of engineering experience, most recently as a senior project manager and electrical and controls department manager with Gannett Fleming. He also is an engineering instructor with Harrisburg Area Community College. He has a BS in electrical engineering technology from the University of Pittsburgh.
Lancaster-based Providence Engineering Corp. named Jackie K. Smith a building information modeling technician. She has an associate degree in drafting and design from York Technical Institute. Andres R. Perez and Anthony T. Smoker were named engineers-in-training. Perez has three years of experience and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architectural engineering from Penn State University. Smoker has one year of civil engineering experience, a BS in physics from Lebanon Valley College and a BS in civil engineering from Penn State. Zac C. Kurtz was named a project engineer with the Muncy office in Lycoming County. He has a BS in civil engineering from Penn State and a BS in applied physics from Shippensburg University. James P. McCloskey was named a designer with the Muncy office. He has extensive experience, most recently as a lead architectural design draftsman with another firm, and a degree in architectural technology from Williamsport Area Community College. James M. California was named a senior structural engineer with the State College office in Centre County. He is a professional engineer with 32 years of structural engineering experience and a bachelor of architectural engineering degree in structural design from Penn State. Gretchen L. Berkheimer was named director of computer-assisted drafting services. Her responsibilities will include overseeing workload, scheduling and quality standards. Sara Leidich was named an administrative assistant. She has a BA in theater with a minor in business administration from Messiah College.
